SENATE BILLS AND MOTIONS IN PLENARY TODAY


In today’s plenary, Our Senator Oduah moved the motion for the Senate to approve the Vote and proceedings for Wednesday November 8th which was later adopted. The Senate considered various motions and Bills today and top on the list of motions was:
1.      MOTION ON THE DEATH OF 26 NIGERIANS ON THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA
The following recommendations were approved:
i.                    Condemn I strong terms the murder of 26 Nigerians on the Mediterranean Sea
ii.                  Mandate the Committee on Diaspora and foreign Affairs to investigate and report back to Senate in 4 weeks
iii.                Observe a minute of silence in honour of the 26 Nigerians.
The Senate also approved the following:
1.      BILL ON 2017 FCT APPROPRIATION BILL
The Senate approved and passed for 3rd reading the FCT Appropriation Bill of N222Billion which was split into:
·         N52B for Personnel Cost
·         N41B for Overhead Cost
·         N128B for Capital expenditure
The Senate finally approved after consideration,
1.      OGUN STATE DEVELOPMENT POLICY OPERATION (DPO) LOAN OF US$350M
