DRAMA IN SENATE AS SENATOR DINO ACCUSES BUHARI OF ABUSE

It was drama today in Nigerian Senate as Senator Dino Melaye refused to move back to APC row when he wanted to raise a point of order. Saraki   told him to go back to his sit, he quietly moved back of PDP row behind other PDP senators.

When the drama was over, he settled down to present his point of order while on crutches and neck brace.

In his point of order, Dino called the attention of the Senate on the comments of the President last week while receiving members of Buhari Support Group at Aso Villa.

He accused the President of saying he doesnt know what the National Assembly members are doing. This he called a derogatory statement and insult to the National Assembly members.

He pointed out that he has been in National Assembly for 11 years now and just recently, the President just signed one of his bills.

Comparing US and Nigeria, he said can Trump wake up to make such disparaging statement against congress?

Speaking further, he said one then wonders why the appointees of the President like IG refuses to honour the summons of the senate when the president can make such disparaging comments about the Institution like National Assembly.

He went further to also point out constitutional breaches through the action of the Controller General of Customs who is now heading the campaign organisation of Buhari Support group. This he said is an aberration and unconstitutional because very soon the IG of police will attend APC Convention.

He called on the Senate to protect the institution of the National Assembly. He said,
" We have to build and preserve democracy".

Finally he called on the President to apologise to the National Assembly for such derogatory statement.
