The Nigerian Senate yesterday confirmed that Federal Govt has banned the importation and production of Codein syrup.
This is traced to the rising abuse of this particular drug by young Nigerian youths especially from the North where it is estimated that in Kano alone, about 3million codeine is consumed daily.
This has become a major issue of concern to help rescue our youths from further destroying their lives. The Nigerian Senate described the drug as the most destructive phenomenon in Nigeria.
Nigerian Senate called for full compliance of this ban by the appropriate agencies of Govt.
