Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremmadu who escaped assassination in the early hours of today Tuesday Morning narratted his ordeal on the floor of the senate.
The DSP said unknown gun men invaded his residence at the early hours of today, held his son hostage and forced him to take them to his bedroom where he and his wife were sleeping.
On getting , there was a scuffle, they were overpowered, one was apprehended while the other escaped.
He said he made several attempts to reach the IG of Police, the DIG and other security agents but it was to no avail.
It was finally around 9am according to him that the DPO of of Apo Police Station eventually came.
In his remarks, Saraki berrated the security agents for not responding to the assistance and calls by the DSP.
He said Senate will continue to see what they do to give adequate support to security agents to send insecurity in the land.
He called on the police to sit up to face the challenges of security squarely.
