Dr Godwin Maduka in my mind.

 

I will like to start by congratulating Dr Godwin Maduka for his unusual courage to venture into the muddy waters of Nigerian politics with intent and charisma to lead the most populated, diverse, prosperous and economically viable state in the South East of Nigeria. Dr Maduka is an Igbo man like none, he is one in a million, the only Igbo man who singlehandedly transformed a hitherto unknown village, ‘Umuchukwu, in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State’ to a city with modern infrastructures and amenities needed for a modern cities including but not limited to the 17 story ultra modern hospital and medical research institute, all from his sweat. No contract from his local, states or for federal government, no illegal activities ether in USA where he is based or in Nigeria his home country. Today, when other regions talk about high rise buildings, we too will stand up and talk just because of one man, Dr Godwin Maduka. Please don’t just disagree or argue with me, rather mention names of better high-fliers and philanthropies in Igbo land with clean history of their wealth and with interest in down trodden like Dr Maduka.

With him in the race to the government house at Awka, Anambra State, the choice available to us is just two, Dr Godwin Maduka and the others. We must as a matter of fact, rally round him to win the race as his government will usher in a new era in the history of Anambra state, South East region and the country at large. It will usher in an era of infrastructural development, industrialization, security, youth employment and empowerment, less corruption and nepotism in government and will encourage more professionals and successful businessmen to join politics and less of sycophants, men of low mentality and political jobbers and corrupt elements in government. I can only compare Dr Godwin Maduka candidacy to that of great Chief MKO Abiola of the blessed memory, who joined politics not for personal gain but to advance the course of good governance and people oriented policies and for greater good of the citizenry.

With Dr Godwin Maduka in the helm of affairs in the government house Awka, Anambra state, the Igbo race will again be brought to the world stage for good. As an international businessman of repute, he will use his connections to bring home other Igbo professional and businessmen in diaspora and the much needed international investors to the region and thereby create jobs, more business opportunities, and wealth and reduce our migration to other parts of the country and indeed the world in search of greener pasture. Just think in just a moment of Dr Godwin Maduka repeating the “Umuchukwu” experience in the all the local government areas of Anambra State, think of the multiplier effect and the benefit to the citizenry and the region in general.

For me, Dr Godwin Maduka is God gift to Anambra State, the Igbo race and Nigeria in general and I strongly believe that his government will usher in a new and sophisticated wave of industrial revolution and infrastructural development that have never been witnessed in the state and the region before and restore the pride of Igbo man and South East in general.
