PDP CRISIS, A CROSSED RUBICON

We are all awashed daily with the self-inflicted crisis in PDP each day we open our TV, social media and all tabloids to know what is happening in our political arena.

PDP deserves no sympathy because the party is only suffering from KARMA, or mere consequences of the conspired action of the leaders to subvert justice and deny South East once again their right.

In my previous write-ups, I had warned that no party across the globe will ever jettison or frustrate its base just for imaginery Northern votes that they are not sure of because they think the highest voting block is in the North.  It’s not done anywhere. A party that is strategic will always consolidate its base before looking for how to win other votes outside its base. This is because its your base that will help to disseminate you message to the new targeted converts. Without them, you will never win the supposed new converts with the larger voting power you dream of. But because of the avarice of Northern politicians who are always breathing down the neck of Southerners as if they are the only ones with the exclusive rights to rule a country with 36 states, more than 250 ethnic nationalities and 6 geopolitical zones, PDP conyinued on the road to destruction and extinction. The results are here before us. No one will just wish them away because these are issues that bother on the fundamentals of the party.

I followed two major elections of Obama in US in his two terms while I was in Canada and it helped to shape my understanding of political strategies and how to win elections. This was one of the lessons I learned listening to those experienced analysts daily on CNN.

We had warned from outside that PDP might be on the road to Golgotha if it dares shortchange South East, its primary base that has been with the party from inception.

But hey, they said South East doesn’t have a voting power hence cannot be considered in the scheme of things.

PDP forgot that its only Igbos in Nigeria that have larger population across all geopolitical zones from South West to North hence they have the spread that will impact any party it supports to give it a national spread. But power intoxication and greed will not let the leaders of the party think right. Corruption has its tap root in the party hence it will be difficult for it to do the right thing without the influence of quid pro quo.

This is why the party could not do any introspection or rather forensic analysis and symmetrical dissection of its strategies and align it with the yearnings of Nigerians even with the failure of APC for 7 years now. Rather the Party foolishly showcased itself again through the dollarized primary which Nigerians watched on TV. So disgusting to say the least.

Now more information is filtering out with Wike accusing Ayu of taking bribe of N1B from one Presidential candidate to favour him. This is a criminal and money laundry offence that in sane climes could land Ayu to jail. This already says it all about the party PDP.

The North in their avaricious quest for power with impunity when they don’t even understand how to make use of the power, conspired and hijacked the process and forced out the most credible candidate from the zone that merited the ticket out of the party

Today the chicken have come home to roast.

PDP is clearly on the road to Golgotha. Road to no return. No matter what the party does now, this election is out of its reach as it is already divided and no decision taken now will unite the party either way. The party is just in between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Absolutely non. If Ayu resigns now, it will not repair the harm done to different interest groups. If he refuses to resign, it will as well seal the deal to foreclose the chances of the party come 2023. So either way, PDP has shot itself in the foot and the law of karma will not spare it. It will never come out of this unscathed. Its too late to assuage the base now which is South EAST as they have found a credible candidate in Labour Party called Peter Obi the phenomenon, who incidentally was forced out of PDP.

Absolutely nothing will make PDP win this election now. If Ayu resigns, still Southerners will work against Atiku as no one in the South is excited about another 8 years of Fulani man in a multi ethnic country like ours.

If he doesn’t resign, Wike and his team will never support the party. So the deal is done. Let the party go home and lick its wounds.

They should start thinking of 2027 now, 2023 is out of their reach. If they like in 2027 they can as well go ahead and file Atiku again. Its up to them to remain in the same circle for centuries and not decades anymore, by not reinventing itself in tandem with the realities on ground as Obaseki advised them to be able to attract the modern day voters who are exposed to what is happening across the globe in countries that we are richer in mineral and material resources.

Its too late to cry me a river now. PDP crisis has crossed the Rubicon. It cannot be salvaged any longer.

PDP should watch out with the volume of votes that will come out of South East. They will never believe it. The base has been galvanized by a credible candidate in Peter Obi. That excitement will push many out on that voting day to cast their votes for their choice candidate. The result will befuddle PDP.

Peter Obi has the movement that aligns with the yearnings of Nigerians and especially the highest demography.

No permutation will make Peter Obi and Labour party loose this eelction in this era of BVAS.

At last, Nigeria will be salvaged from the OLD ORDER by Peter Obi who will usher the country into the NEW ORDER of prosperity, growth and maximization of its potentials as a great nation.

I dream a new Nigeria.
