The Nigerian Senate is to investigate the death of Youth Corper Linda Angela who died due to accidental discharge by the Nigerian Police in Abuja few days ago.
It was reported that the Youth Corper who was shot accidentally by the police, was refused treatment by the hospital where she was rushed to. the hospital insisted on police report even when there was a police man who accompanied the body to the hospital.
This the Senate said is against the backdrop of the Victim of Gun Shots Bill which has since been accented to by the President since December, making it mandatory for all hospitals or clinic to treat any one with gun shot wounds with or without police report.
Senate accordingly resolved to investigate the matter through Police, Health and Youths and Sports Committee to unravel what actually happened.
The Committee is to report back to senate in two weeks.
