The resurgence of
attacks on Ohaneze Ndigbo by APC agents of destabilization in the South East
for endorsing Atiku/Obi ticket which is
trending right now in South East is aberration and will not hold water.
The APC has unleashed
their attack dogs on Ohaneze ,the only mouth piece of Igbo gburu gburu both at
home and in Diaspora for towing the anticipated line of history by endorsing
Atiku/Obi ticket, the only credible and reliable option for Ndigbo.
The endorsement was a
reflection of public opinion among all Igbos home and in Diaspora as the only
ticket that has the interest of Ndigbo and all Nigerians in their programs and
manifestos.
It’s quite surprising
to fathom why APC, a party that has covertly and overtly marginalised the 5% by scheming us out systematically
from full participation in their Govt will be playing oblivion where their
hatred for Ndigbo will lead to.
If they hard thought
that marginalizing Igbos will break our resolve and force us to submit our
votes and future to them, I guess they were hallucinating. Igbos are not cowards.
They vote their conviction and conscience regardless of any form of intimidation
to break their resolve and cow them into submission.
Igbo man cannot be
intimidated to vote for any one by the so called political king makers as it
obtains in other regions of Nigeria. Rather, Igbos vote based on their
perception of the candidate on how he will treat them when he/she is in power and
of course his score cards in the past, regardless of ethnicity or religious
affiliation and tendencies.
It then baffles me if
APC and their attack dogs in the South East were taken aback by the decision, when
they single handedly dug this hole for themselves in South East through
systematic marginalization of a people that have reasonable spread and
representation across all regions or states in Nigeria more than any other
ethnic group in Nigeira(a potential 25%) political representation.
Their bold refusal to
integrate us fully into their Govt, is an affront on Ndigbo, and the only way
to repay them back is through a protest vote come Feb 16TH, 2019.
Unleashing Orji Uzo
Kalu, Obiano et al on the leadership of Ohaneze and planting a splinter group
in such an organized and respected umbrella body on Ndigbo that represents the
interest of the entire Igbo nation home and abroad can only fan the embers of
more controversy and problems for the party in the region. Igbos do not play band wagonpolitics determined by one man percieved as leader.
APC Govt has repeatedly
thrown away every opportunity to make peace with Igbos and make them feel they are
relevant in this administration without any remorse.
Recently an opportunity
to start rewriting some wrongs placed itself before APC Govt and they refused
to leverage on that. The IGP just went on compulsory retirement after reaching
the age line of 60.
The media was awashed
with speculations that it’s the turn of Ndigbo, that Buhari was going to
appease them even if it is for the election purposes, by appointing an Igbo man
as the new IG of police. Unfortunately, in the same manner they have towed for
the past 4years, they ignored all the
speculations and went and appointed another Northern muslim to replace the
outgoing IG from the North also without any apologies to Ndigbo.
So its crystal clear
that all concocted and orchestrated attacks on Ohaneze at this critical time is
a failed strategy ab ignition and it will not sway the emotions of Igbos and
their votes.
Igbos have made their
choice through Ohaneze and its too late to be crying over spilt milk because
they have chosen to follow the part where their interest will be guaranteed and
protected.
AtikuObi ticket is on
the name of almost every Igbo man both home and in the Diaspora. No amount of
intimidation will alter that permutation.
APC should swallow their
pride and accept defeat not only in South East but across Nigeria as people are
tired of their destabilizing style and cant wait to bid them farewell on May 29th,2019.
It’s a sealed deal, insulting, attacking and planting agents of destabilization
in Ohaneze will not change the dynamics now. It’s too late!
