Imo
state boasts of one of the toughest gubernatorial contest coming up with the
parade of experienced political gladiators and hard fighting politicians that
can change the dynamics overnight if you underrate any of them in a jiffy.
In
that matrix is Uche Nwosu who is one of the youngest among them, battling it
out with the likes of Hope Uzodimma, Emeka Ehedioha, Ifeanyi Araruma et al to
mention just a few. These men have all been in the corridor of Imo State
politics for decades but interestingly they have nothing to show for such
longevity in the system.
Gradually,
they are on the last lap of their quest to govern the heartland state in tandem
with modern reality and the cry for the youths to take over the reigns of
leadership of our country across all strata(#NotTooYoungToRun) .
The
evolving realities indicate that they have outlived their relevance in Imo
state as their generation has not made any positive impact on the lives of our
people. They cannot boast of any tangible achievement that will stimulate the
interest of the people to navigate towards them and anchor their hope for a
better Imo on them at all. Certainly not a feasible reality.
Uche
Nwosu is the future. He is young, intelligent and most importantly loved by the
people especially the youths. He is a man who has many fans and appeals to many
who have repeatedly applauded his personality as a liberal democrat and an open
minded youth who has the capacity to gulvanise the youths and give them
opportunity to showcase their 21st century skills required to move our growing
modern state Imo State forward. He is simply fated to be the next governor of
Imo state.
Many
who hate the brand Uche Nwosu will tell
you that it is a mere spill over of their hatred for the present governor his
father inlaw, Rochas Okorocha, not that they have any serious issues or misgivings
against the young leader himself as he has not offended anyone in Imo state.
That
brings me to the key issue here, if someone should just be abhored and branded
evil just because you hate another who is related to him. Rochas is a man of
his own same is Uche Nwosu. A man of his own mind too who has every legal,
civic and constitutional right to contest for the governorship of the great
state Imo having met the basic requirements of the law regardless of whether
his father inlaw is the present governor or not. Any other reason for hating
him is simply inconsequential in his quest to become the next governor of Imo
state.
The
reality is that Uche Nwosu is the right candidate to leverage and consolidate on
the great performances of Rochas Okorocha as one of the most impactful governor
of our time. Take it or leave it, the legacies of Rochas in Imo state are too
great to allow them to filter through the wrong choice on the ballot box. His
8-year leadership of the state has seen Imo leapfrog from the bottom of
different statistical figures and dynamics raging from infrastructural
development, economic indixes, education et al to belong on the top echelon
among the top performing states across Nigeria.
It’s
only natural for a leader who has achieved so much to want a continuity of his
vision and consolidation of his achievements by nominating someone with similar
vision who understands the terrain and how the success was achieved to step in
for smooth continuation.
Many
uncompleted projects of Rochas that symbolise his vision for a great Imo state
with a befitting and modern capital can only be fully actualised when someone
with the same vision like him takes over the reins of leadership from him.
Uche
Nwosu is a young man who does not carry the baggages of our yesteryears politicians
who are very cold to the people that elected them and see all of us as mere
objects and tools at their beck and call to step on and achieve their self
aggrandizing interest of amassing all the possible wealth they can lay their
hands on to the detriment of the people who elected them and make themselves
semi gods on earth.
Uche
Nwosu is a bridge between this old generation of politicians and the youths of
this century who interestingly make up more than 50 percent of the electorate
in today’s Nigeria based on INEC statistics.
This
implies that Ugwumba is the right candidate destined to pioneer the affairs of
our state at this critical stage of our history when we need the right leader
to take us to the next stage of greatness that beckons on the corridor of our
great and rising sun city Owerri.
Uche
Nwosu is the future of Imo state, lets support him to help berth our state on
the shores of economic power and infrastructural development. He will embrace
the youths is his goverment and give them a role to showcase their 21st
century skills and finally liberate us from the shackles of selfish politicians
who are the reason why we are still here today.
