The Super Eagles beat their continental rivals Cameroun 3-2 to book their place in Quarter final of AFCON 2019.
The Eagles who were criticised for their sloppy game against Madagascar that made them loose their group leadership to Madagascar proved critics and book makers wrong by stepping up their game to beat defending Champions Cameroun.
The Eagles scored the first goal through marksman Ighalo only for Cameroun to Equalise and go ahead to score a second goal to lead 2-1 at first half.
In the second half the Eagles raised their game after the introduction of Chukwueze as Ighalo scored another beautiful goal and set up Iwobi to score the winning goal.
All efforts by Cameroun to restore parity was thwarted as the Eagles held on to a massive win to qualify for the Quarter Final of the tournament with 24 teams for the first time.
In the second group of the night, Egypt and Sallah did not come to the party as South Africa scored a later goal in less than 10 minutes to go, to set up a mouth watery Quater final with Nigeria.
Congratulations @NGSuperEagles
